Taxi Hints

Taxis are NOT metered, instead there are set fares, so it is a good idea to determine your
fare in advance--see below. At the Airport, the St. Croix Taxi Association booth is just outside of the baggage claim area. In Christiansted, they are at the bottom of King St. near the Fort.

The fares are actually quite reasonable. Note that the fares from the Airport to Coakley Bay are about half if you are willing to share. If not, ask for an "Exclusive Taxi"

Also, if you need one for your return (if you are not going to be in town) arrange your return before leaving the taxi.

It is better to find a cab at the Airport, in town or to arrange for a return ride -- as a 'radio-called' cab adds one-third to the price.
